Kyle Andrews Foundation – Family Support
Kyle Andrews’ legacy lives on…
The Camp
Our organisation is a registered charitable foundation raising funds to bring children undergoing treatment for cancer from Perth Children’s Hospital to Broome on an annual basis, for a much-needed, week long, break from difficult treatments and therapy.
“The camp is phenomenal. The children start to smile again, laugh, and have a bit of fun. By the end of the week, we have a completely different child with us. They are relaxed, less stressed, feel free and have a sense of belonging,” said Matt, the Foundation President.
Family Respite Home – Kyle’s Cottage, Broome
We have a fully self-contained respite home in Broome for families with children who may have life threatening illnesses and are undergoing treatment. Families can stay in Broome to enjoy much needed respite and to take a holiday together in such a beautiful part of Australia. We want families that need a break to be able to take a holiday together.
Family Apartment for Perth Treatment – Gibb Retreat
We have a comfortable, well located apartment in West Perth to provide accommodation for those from the North West while undergoing medical treatment in Perth.
Kyle’s Getaway – Busselton (under development)
It’s early days, but we are fortunate to have a property under development in Busselton, WA as another family respite opportunity. We can’t wait to share more about this location and what it will offer.
Our Patron – Justin Langer
Our wonderfully supportive Patron is Justin Langer who, along with his family, has been able to attend most Kyle Camps and represents the Kyle Andrews Foundation Inc. at a number of functions.
Justin spent valuable time with Kyle whilst he was in hospital and always took the time, even whilst overseas in his capacity as a player with the Australian Cricket Team, to call Kyle and check in on him.
It has been wonderful to have Justin, his wife Sue and their four daughters as part of the KAF family. They love Broome as much as Kyle did.
