“Sometimes kids have a short time with us but giving them some memorable experiences, freedom to have fun and the opportunity to just be a kid is so important. For us at the Foundation, it’s not about curing cancer, there are other experts that are working hard at this noble endeavour. Our focus is to create moments of happiness, a chance to relax, to have fun. To provide respite for families during hard times and support for families in Perth undergoing treatment. It’s simple in approach, yet that simplicity creates beautiful moments that are treasured forever,” Matt, the Foundation President said.
The Kyle Andrews Foundation provides support to families with children undergoing treatment for cancer, suffering an ongoing medical condition or families experiencing a recent bereavement.
We exist to support children and their families doing it tough – through a range of activities and services:
Kyle’s Camp for Kids, Broome
The Kyle Andrews Foundation with support of their sponsors and the generosity of the local community annually provide the holiday of a life-time in Broome for approximately 15 – 18 children undergoing treatment from Perth Children’s Hospital for a much-needed, week long break from difficult therapy and treatments.
Family Respite home – Kyle’s Cottage, Broome
We have a fully self-contained respite home in Broome for families with children who may have life threatening illnesses and are undergoing treatment. Families can stay in Broome to enjoy much needed respite and to take a holiday together in such a beautiful part of Australia.
Family apartment for Perth treatment – Gibb Retreat
We have a comfortable, well located apartment in West Perth to provide accommodation for those from the North West while undergoing medical treatment in Perth.
Kyle’s Getaway – Busselton (under development)
It’s early days, but we are fortunate to have a property under development in Busselton WA as another family respite opportunity. We can’t wait to share more about this location and what it will offer.
